DESCRIPTION:Roger Nadrchal has called Norfolk\, Nebraska home for many years\, and it is where his lifelong love of art continues to take root. A painter\, woodworker\, and dedicated woodcarver\, Roger first picked up the carving knife in 1982. After carving for five years\, life carried him in other directions\, but in 2011 he returned to his passion with renewed commitment. \nIn the early years\, Roger focused on songbirds\, ducks\, and waterfowl. Today\, his work spans a wider range: natural wildlife\, caricatures\, whimsical bark carvings\, and\, of course\, his signature Santas. \nRoger balances a full life of family\, friends\, carving events\, and his work as CEO of NeighborWorks Northeast Nebraska. Yet art remains his steady companion. \nSince 2012 he has deepened his dedication to the craft\, leading him to attend workshops across Nebraska. He has studied under respected instructors such as Morris Anderson\, Kirt and Linda Curtis\, Marty Dolphens\, PJ Driscoll\, Debbe Edwards\, Rick Jensen\, and Desiree Hajny. \nNotable Awards: \n\nFirst Place-Novice Category: Otter Grouping\nFirst Place-Advanced Category: Male Lion\nBest of Show: Whimsical Cottonwood Bark Treehouse\nBest of Show: Mother Giraffe with Her Newborn\n\n  \nRoger is a past President of the Northeast Nebraska Woodcarvers Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Mid-America Woodcarvers Association. \nHe has taught woodcarving classes at the Gretna Woodcarving Experience\, the Doane Experience\, Coleridge Carvers\, and various local clubs. His classes\, ranging from two to five days\, are known for clear\, step-by-step instruction in carving\, texturing\, and painting\, welcoming both new and experienced artists. \nFor this exhibit at the Norfolk Arts Center\, Roger is sharing over a lifetime collection of his woodcarving creations . Held at the beautiful Courtyard at Midtown Event Center\, this is a holiday event your child will never forget \nOur special guests will enjoy an enchanting afternoon with Clara and all of her friends! Expect a sprawling spread of sweets and treats\, hot cocoa\, dazzling dance performances\, autographs from all our lead characters\, and festive photo opportunities  Many more surprises remain up our sleeve!\nWe will offer a Tea Party at 1pm and at 4pm with a mere 100 tickets sold to each. Tickets on sale November 7th at Paulyns Dance Studio for $10 – make plans to attend this intimate and special event that will be the highlight of your holiday season!
