The Fall Junior Series gives high school golfers the opportunity to build their golfing resume by competing as part of a team and also as an individual in a series of 18-hole competitions during the fall.
Teams – Junior players compete in teams of three (3) players, counting their two lowest scores after completion of play for each event (similar to how high school events are conducted). In the events, juniors will play in threesomes made up of players from different teams. The top team receives a medal at each tournament. Typically, a team consists of the same 3 boys each event, but in the case that someone can’t play in an event, a team can be made up of any combination of the same 4 boys during the series. Players are to come up with a creative team name for the series. In addition to the team race, representatives of teams competing in an event are also placed in the individual competition against all other participants. The top 10 individual scores at each event will receive recognition.
Each event is limited to 60 golfers (20 teams) and the entry fee for each competition is $50 per player. Event registration opens August 18th at 9am.
A list of participants and pairings is sent to area college golf coaches prior to each tournament. Following the event the same is done with the results.
Each event in the Fall Junior Series is awarded NGA Junior Point Standings points. In addition, separate Fall Junior Series point standings are established to track both the individual and team race. Post season recognition is given to the top five individual point finishers, also known as the FJS All-Star Team. The top overall team at the completion of the series is also recognized and presented with a special prize. The overall points race will be based on an individual or team’s top three finishes. The Fall Junior Series points race is separate from the summer NJG Tour season long points race.
