Battle Creek

Bit o’ Country Bed and Breakfast is located in Battle Creek as is the Parks of Pride Arboretum and Evergreen Golf Course. The Cowboy Trail system runs through the area and is easily accessible for bikers, hikers and walkers. The community hosts their Battle Creek Fun Days event in June every year.

Madison

Make sure you stop by the Madison County Historical Society Museum & Gift shop. The museum is rich in history and heritage. If you’re planning a visit in July, don’t miss the Madison County Fair – it’s one of the best County Fairs around! The town also boasts the Carnegie Family Learning Center, the Archive Center for the Nebraska Orphan Train Riders, nearly 100 camp sites, a community swimming pool/tennis courts and DeGroot Orchards, a quaint yet impressive apple orchard open in the fall.

Meadow Grove

Here’s a quick fun fact: Meadow Grove is the birthplace of the Outdoor Movie! You can easily access the Cowboy Trail System and semi-modern camping while in the area. If you’re planning a visit in the summer months make sure you research dates for their annual Corn Daze event!

Newman Grove

Newman Grove is the Norwegian Capital of Nebraska. They are well-known for their community festivals including Norwegian Days and Shell Creek Valley Days. A short distance from Norfolk, the community offers fabulous antique shopping, an excellent park system with semi-modern camping, a community swimming pool, tennis courts, a softball complex and sand volleyball.

Tilden

Tilden is the birthplace of Hall of Fame baseball player Richie Ashburn who resided in the community throughout his career from 1948-1962. Tilden also lies on the Cowboy Trail, the longest bicycling and hiking trail in the United States. The Elkhorn River, one mile north of the city, offers some of the best catfish fishing in the state of Nebraska.
